Study information for Diabetes Trials

The Value of Clinical Research
At the Dallas Diabetes and Endocrine Center we are continually conducting numerous clinical trials specifically designed to treat patients with Type 1 and 2 Diabetes. Each trial is unique in its objectives and type of medications that are being used, but all strive for the ultimate goal of lowering blood sugars. Some of our previous studies include research of the following marketed drugs for the treatment of diabetes: Glucophage and Fortamet (metformin), Diabeta (glyburide), Amaryl (glimepiride), Actos (pioglitizone), Avandia (rosiglitizone) and many of the combination medications such as Metaglip, Glucovance, Avandamet, Avandaryl and ACTOplus met. We have also conducted trials in a new class of diabetes treatment which includes Byetta. In addition, we have completed extensive research in all types of insulins such as Humalog, Novolog, 70/30, 75/25, 50/50, Lantus, Levemir and the Inhaled Insulins.

In addition to medication specifically to assist you in lowering your blood sugar levels, we also conduct trials for the treatment of some complications of diabetes such as Neuropathy (numbness and/or pain in feet) and Nephropathy (a decrease in kidney function). Please contact our office at 972-566-5678 to learn about all of our ongoing efforts to improve your life with diabetes.
